1. How can I request a Greeter?

Please complete our request form and provide us with as much information as possible.

  1. What happens after I submit my request?

As soon as we receive your request, we will try to match you with an available Greeter. We will contact you as quickly as possible by email to arrange the details of your walk. If you book in advance it may take some time before being contacted. We usually contact 10/15 days before the requested date.

  1. How can I change or cancel my request?

Please send an email to milangreeters1@gmail.com as soon as possible if you need to change your plans. We will do our best to accommodate your changes, but we cannot but cannot offer guarantees.

  1. How soon in advance do I have to fill out an application form?

As we do not take pre-planned tours but individual walks, we recommend that you complete the form at least 14 days before your visit. This will give you the best chance that one of our Greeters can schedule you. If you arrive on shorter notice, we recommend that you complete the form as soon as possible.

  1. How much does it cost to meet a Greeter?

Milan Greeters are completely FREE OF CHARGE and have a strict no-tip policy. Our Greeters are so proud of their city that they are very willing to take a walk with you, spend a few hours and tell you their stories. The Greeters, however, are happy to stop by for a drink with you, very often letting you discover a particular place.

  1. Why is it free? Milan Greeters walks are free because we are volunteers and our goal is simply to meet people, make new friends and show our beautiful city or that particular place that you would not have found without your Greeters. This is according to the values of the International Greeters Association, which we wholeheartedly support.
  2. How many people can participate in a Milan Greeters walk?

The walks are carried out in small groups from one person to a maximum of six people. They are private walks, so they are not aimed at tour groups. For larger groups we strongly recommend contacting a professional tour guide (we are not professional tour guides!).

  1. Can children participate in a Milan Greeters walk?

Certainly. Milan is also a city suitable for children. At least one member of the group must be 18 years old.

Oh yeah, so bring your umbrella. Whatever the weather, we will meet you if conditions permit, and we will try to show you the best side of our city. But we will be there at the agreed time

  1. Are you a professional tour guide?

No, we are not professional tour guides, on the contrary. Milan Greeters are simple locals who love to show new friends their city. If you prefer an organized tour with a tour guide, take a look at the Milan Tourist Office for more details

  1. Do you have predetermined itineraries and at scheduled times?

NO, the walks are individual for a single request and depend on the availability of a volunteer
